Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chairman of the 2018 Indonesian Asian Para Games Athlete Contingent, Arminsyah, has observed the preparation of the Indonesian Lawn Bowl athletes who will compete at the 2018 Asian Para Games at Hoki Square in the Bung Karno (GBK) main stadium on Thursday.

The Lawn Bowl, as a new sport to be competed at the 2018 Asian Para Games, has 18 athletes who will take part in 15 sports out of the 24 sport events.

Arminsyah, who is also the country`s Deputy Attorney General, stated that in lawn bowl sport, Indonesia has athletes with good achievements in the trial competition in Langkawi-Malaysia, where the Lawn Bowl Indonesia athletes won 8 silver medals and 9 bronze medals.

According to him, Indonesia has several flagship sports, namely athletics, badminton, chess, and swimming.

"We hope the four sports can win gold medals at the 2018 Asian Para Games from Oct 6 to 13," he remarked.

He also explained the results of the chess trial in Poland, where the Indonesian chess athlete team won the world rank 5,6, and 8.

In the meantime, the Indonesian badminton team succeeded in exceeding the target satisfactorily.
