Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - The Ministry of Social Affairs has distributed Rp. 15 billion from the grant fund to aid the rehabilitation process after an earthquake struck Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara.

"The funds collected from the lottery program will be returned to the community in the form of programs for the development of social welfare, such as to help people affected by the disaster in NTB," Social Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said here on Friday.

He said funds for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Lombok, which was badly damaged by the earthquake in August 2018, were not enough from the APBN, and were strengthened with a grant.

The grant funds came from a free lottery program with prizes that have been collected worth IDR 327 billion.

The Minister of Social Affairs, at the closing of the Coordination Meeting of Civil Servants (PPNS) with the theme of collaboration to realize the monitoring professionalism and supervision of the implementation of free lotteries with central and regional prizes, expected PPNS at the Ministry of Social Affairs to further enhance professionalism.

"We hope that the increasing professionalism of PPNS will also increase the country`s income through the grant funds at the Ministry of Social Affairs," he said.

He also stressed the tasks mandated by PPNS to monitor the lottery so that everything was in accordance with the rules.
