The plan was discussed at a meeting between the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhajir Efendi, and the Minister of Education of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, at the Office of the Ministry of Education in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Friday (Sept 14).
At the meeting, Efendi was accompanied by the Chancellor of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Dr. Fauzan; Director General of Culture, Ministry of Education and Culture, Hilmar Farid; an education observer, Prof. Lincolin Arsyad; Director General of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Diplomacy, Ministry of Education and Culture, Nadjamuddin Ramly; and the Regent of Tulang Bawang Barat, Umar Ahmad.
"Azerbaijan and Indonesia will help each other in the development of curriculum on petroleum education. Later, there will be Indonesian teachers to teach Indonesian in Azerbaijan," Efendi stated.
Meanwhile, Bayramov noted that Indonesia and Azerbaijan pay attention to vocational education. "We will adjust our curriculum," he added.
On a visit to Baku, Efendi also opened the third Indonesian Cultural Festival (ICF), which is held from September 13 to 16, 2018, in Baku City.
Bayramov appreciated the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the Indonesian Embassy in Baku for organizing the cultural event.
"I would like to express my appreciation to Efendi and Ambassador Husnan Bey Fananie, as well as the government and people of Indonesia who organize the ICF," he remarked.
At the meeting, Fananie invited Bayramov to come to the ICF Expo at Fountains Square.
"I invite Bayramov to attend the opening of the ICF 2018 Expo at Fountains Square on Sept 15 and 16. There will be a lot of Indonesian arts and cultures performed at the event," the ambassador explained.
A number of Azerbaijani students performed several traditional Indonesian dances at the opening of the third ICF held at Haydar Aliyev Sarayi, Baku City, Azerbaijan, on Thursday Night (Sept 13).
The traditional dances performed by Azerbaijani students at the opening of the ICF 2018 were Ondel-Ondel from Betawi (Jakarta), Rampak Gendang (West Java), Enggang from Dayak Tribe (East Kalimantan), Mambri (Papua), a dance from Tulang Bawang Barat (Lampung), Jajar Gandrung (Banyuwangi, East Java), and Reog Ponorogo (East Java).
The ICF 2018 is held for the third time in two different locations in Baku. The event carries a theme "Keeping the Archipelago of Greatest Culture Alive."
The two locations of the 2018 ICF are Heydar Aliyev Sarayi and Fountains Square, an outdoor shopping center that is always crowded with Azerbaijanis and foreign tourists because of its location in the middle of the Standard Formula 1 Circuit.
The 2018 ICF is attended by several Indonesian ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Religion.
Some entrepreneurs from Indonesia will also enliven the ICF while promoting its products, such as batik, furniture and handicrafts.
