The King also offered assistance to Indonesia to help ease the nation`s burdens following the natural disasters that killed at least 1,234 people, the Saudi embassy noted in a statement here on Tuesday.
King Al Saud personally called President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Monday to express sympathy and offer assistance.
The Royal also prayed for the victims, including speedy recovery of the injured.
President Jokowi expressed gratitude to King Salman Al Saud and to the Saudi people, in general, for the kind attention and assistance.
"(The King) expressed condolences over the quake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi and offered assistance for Indonesia," President Jokowi wrote on his Facebook account, adding that several other world leaders have also offered condolences and assistance to Indonesia.
According to President Jokowi as quoted on the official website of the Cabinet Secretary, the world leaders included Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Singaporean President Halimah Yacob, United Arab Emirates President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"It gives a strong message that we are not alone in these difficult times," President Jokowi wrote.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto had earlier noted that a total of 59,450 people were displaced and are currently staying in temporary shelters at 109 locations.
They are in dire need of emergency tents, food, drinking water, and sanitary facilities, such as toilets and closets, he stated.
