Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Vice President M Jusuf Kalla received Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Dato Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail at his office here on Tuesday to discuss Malaysian aid for earthquake and tsunami victims in Central Sulawesi.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, the two sides stated they also discussed ways to enhance bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries during the 30-minute meeting.

Wan Ismail expressed sympathy for the victims of the magnitude-7.4 earthquake and subsequent tsunami in Palu city and Donggala district, Central Sulawesi, on Sept 28.

The Malaysian deputy prime minister also expressed condolences over the loss of lives in the natural disaster.

During the meeting with Kalla, Wan Ismail remarked that the Malaysian government is committed to helping handle the impact of the disaster by providing A400 M aircraft to distribute basic necessities, including fuel oil.

"The Pertamina large-bodied aircraft based in Jakarta can carry oil from Balikpapan to Palu in 30 minutes," she added.

In addition, the Malaysian government has also sent three Hercules C-130 planes to carry Malaysian relief aid worth 1 million ringgits. It will also provide rehabilitation fund, particularly for the education sector.
