Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - Rupiah ended inter-bank transaction on Wednesday stronger trading at the level of 15,182 appreciating from 15,291 per dollar earlier.

"Rupiah gain indicated that the country`s economic stability is well maintained. It also was attributable to the statement by Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde saying Indonesian economy was healthy," chief researcher of Monex Investindo Futures, Ariston Tjendra said here.

The statement strengthened the confidence of the market players in the country`s economic fundamental resulting in rupiah strengthening, Ariston said.

In addition in the past several days rupiah has lost much of its value and the market players began to buy hoping to gain from the falling price.
