Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s men`s doubles team added two gold medals from the table tennis double at the 2018 Asian Para Games at Ecovention Ancol, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

The men`s double match took place in the afternoon from 1.30 to 4.00 Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB).

The men`s double team of Agus Sutanto/Tatok Hardiyanto in the TT 4-5 class managed to win a gold after fighting the pair from Thailand, Wanchai Cahiwut/Niyom Nachai, with a score of 2-0 (14-12, 11-7).

Then, David Jacobs/Komet Akbar from the TT 10 class won the gold after defeating the Korean pair of Shin Seung Weon/Jung Sukyoun with a score of 2-0 (11-5, 11-7).

The coach of the Indonesian contingent team, Bayu Widhie, said that what the Indonesian team had obtained was in line with the target set.

"From the beginning, we targeted a gold medal from the double numbers and thank God that it was achieved today," he said.

He also hoped that after the Asian Para Games, the athletes would continue to increase their capacity.

"I hope the performance of the athletes is maintained and they continue to diligently practice after this," he said.
