"Thank you for giving us the `fresh air`, `fresh air` from Jakarta, Indonesia to Palestine," Minister al-Maliki said at the Solidarity Week for Palestine event held by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs here Sunday.
According to him, the support and solidarity given by Indonesia are very important for Palestine which has been 51 years under the Zionist Israeli occupation.
"I would like to thank all people who are present here and have shown their support and solidarity for Palestinian people," al-Maliki added.
He asserted that the support and solidarity of the Indonesian people and government would be welcomed by Palestinian people.
On the same occasion, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said Indonesia was always at the forefront to support Palestine.
"The Indonesian government and Indonesian diplomacy are always at the forefront when we discuss Palestinian issues," Minister Marsudi said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is holding a Solidarity Week for Palestine as a form of consistent support from Indonesia to Palestine.
The Solidarity Week for Palestine has begun in Bandung (West Java) by inaugurating Palestine Walk, followed by a walk for peace and humanity in Jakarta. In addition, the event also features meetings with the Indonesian President and the House of Representatives.
