Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo invited a number of political parties to visit the community to hear complaints and problems.

"We must not only force the people to listen to us, but we must hear the aspirations of the people, hear the complaints of the people, hear what is needed by the people, hear what the people want," said the President in his remarks while attending the 54th Anniversary of the Golongan Karya Party (Golkar ) at JI-Expo Jakarta on Sunday.

According to the President, political parties must show their work and performance together with the community.

The Head of State reminded the political parties to show the Indonesian people that the general election was not a democratic war, but a celebration of democratic parties.

The president asked party leaders to truly work in the midst of society to maintain the nation`s trust in the political process and political parties.

"Don`t just want to vote for the presidential election, when you want the legislative elections to be close to the people. Be careful that people now see that. We also don`t just stand in front of the people but actually sit and work with the people," Jokowi said.

He invited political parties to strengthen their work politics and work to build the nation and bring social justice to all Indonesian people and build superior human resources and be ready to compete during the industrial revolution 4.0.

After attending the event, the President planned to visit Bandung, West Java to attend the peak night of 2018 Santri Day.
