Indonesian Consul General in Vancouver Dr Tuti Wahyuningsih Irman noted in a statement received by Antara here on Friday that the distribution of these products in the Canadian market offers an important momentum that ended the long journey of Indonesia`s health drink products by gaining entry into the Canadian West Coast market.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor of the Indonesian Consulate in Vancouver Firman Priambodo stated that the inauguration ceremony for the distribution was held at the AFOD Ltd. distributor office, located in the Delta region, BC Province, and was witnessed by Head of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center Vancouver Rafika Arfani, representative of PT Mustika Ratu Julie Wahono, and AFOD Ltd. manager and owner Hongbing Xia.
PT Mustika Ratu Tbk, through Taman Sari Spa Heritage located in Whistler, sees huge opportunities for affordable health drink products to be sold in the Canadian domestic market.
Wahono expressed hope that Mustika Ratu would produce healthy products at affordable prices to meet the consumers` requirements and cater to the domestic market`s taste, especially in Canada.
AFOD Ltd is an importer and marketer of various products from Asia. As a distributor company, AFOD Ltd markets various Indonesian products, including instant noodles, under a trademark of Indomie and Kopiko candy.
These products are sold in several independent stores and supermarkets across Canada. Xia expressed hope that the cooperation between AFOD and Indonesia would be further enhanced, considering that Indonesian products are favored by the local people.
In addition to the BC region, some Indonesian products have penetrated the eastern coast of Canada, especially the Ontario region and its surrounding areas. These products are marketed in collaboration between the Indonesian companies and local distributor Oey Trading Co. based in Ontario.
