Indonesian Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, Ronald Manik, told Antara on Thursday that the president is due to arrive in Port Moresby on Saturday (Nov 17), following a working visit to Merauke.
"The president is indeed scheduled to arrive in Port Moresby after visiting Merauke," he stated in a message received by Antara in Jayapura.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief of Information for the XVII Cenderawasih Regional Military Command Lt. Col. Inf Dax Sianturi separately noted that the president and his entourage are scheduled to arrive in Merauke on Friday (Nov 16) at around 01.00 a.m. local time.
In Merauke, Jokowi will officiate the time capsule monument that had been in construction since July 2017.
He will also visit the border area between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea that will be the crossing the path between Merauke and Boven Digul, as well as the Sota cross-country border post.
Jokowi will continue his journey to Port Moresby on Saturday morning, he revealed.
