Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - The House of Representatives (DPR) said, after a long delay, it is set to finish preparing four draft laws in its second period of sessions of 2018-2019.

The House has failed to produce the drafts of the four bills in more than 10 periods of sessions earlier.

"In this period of sessions , there are 32 bills still in the process of first level debate, and four bills, which have been discussed in more than 10 periods of sessions. Debates on the four are expected to be finished in this period of sessions," House Speaker Bambang Soesatyo said a plenary session of the Parliament here on Wednesday.

Bambang said the four bills are on Criminal Code (KUHP), alcoholic drinks, Archipelago concept, and on national entrepreneurship.

He said the House leaders have invited the Government for consultation specially about three of the bills - on alcoholic drinks, Archipelago concept, and on national entrepreneurship.

"However, the government could not yet fulfill the invitation . The House leaders, therefore, renew the invitation to discuss the three bills," he said.

Bambang asked all members of the parliament to seriously carry out their duty to the people in the remaining time of their service.

"Political campaigns in the run up to the legislative and presidential elections should not be reason for not meeting commitments to the people," he said.
