Jakarta (ANTARA) - Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita on Monday said that the 2024 Hannover Messe, a global industrial exhibition held from April 22–26 in Germany, had a positive impact on the investment climate in Indonesia.

"In the exhibition, Indonesia was able to showcase its economic and technological potential to the world. Our attitude and active participation in the Hannover Messe has had a positive impact to increase investment in Indonesia," the minister added.

He said that this positive impact from participating in the Hannover Messe came from the establishment of 15 business-to-business (B-to-B) cooperation agreements with an investment value of more than Rp5 trillion (US$308 million).

The ministry's Digital Industry Center (PIDI) 4.0 also conducted a business forum at the event to explore collaboration between the IKN Nusantara Authority (OIKN) and the SGC Group for the development of waste into energy as well as with TechnoGIS for disaster mitigation.

Meanwhile, acting director general of resilience, regions, and international industrial access at the ministry, Eko Cahyanto, said that his party is optimistic that the exhibition would open up the potential for other collaborations given the interest shown by Hannover Messe visitors in Indonesia's booth.

"Visitors attending our booth expressed positive responses to Indonesia's programs. During the five days of the event, our booth was always packed with visitors," he added.

In addition, the ministry's director of access to industrial resources and international promotion, Syahroni Ahmad, said that his party conducted several activities at the exhibition, namely a business forum, business matching, and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

"The 2024 Hannover Messe was visited by around 130 thousand visitors from 150 countries, who shared the same vision to support a more competitive industry by reducing industrial emissions.

Around 40 percent of Hannover Messe's visitors came from China, the Netherlands, South Korea, the United States, and Japan," Ahmad informed.
