The injured individual, identified as Purwanto from South Lampung, was in the treatment room along with his family when the president visited on Monday.
Purwanto recounted the tsunami that suddenly struck.
"At that time, I was on the beach along with my cousins. I was chatting, aware that there were waves rising as high as electricity poles," he informed Antara.
Purwanto recalled having managed to survive after swimming near the house where he was staying with his family.
Purwanto said he was also able to save his wife.
"At that time, my wife was taking a shower. I pulled out and ran," he noted.
Purwanto said he immediately ran from the coastal area in search of help.
He suffered wounds on the left thigh and arm. He and his wife are being treated in one room.
The president also prayed for Purwanto`s recovery and expressed concern.
In addition to the Puskesmas, or the public health center, the president visited the BNPB disaster post at the Labuan Sub-District Office.
The president then also approached refugees and children in the Rancateureup Village futsal field tent.
The president met with the children and inquired about the health.
In the village, the government also handed over aid in the form of basic and ready-made food items.
A tsunami had earlier struck, with tidal waves, on Saturday night (Dec 22) that hit the area around Sunda Strait.
