Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met the representatives of Indonesian fishermen at the State Palace, here, on Tuesday, and reminded them to utilize low-interest loans wisely.

"I think it is important for them to be used by fishermen as working capital, for investment by fishermen," the president stated.

During the meeting with fishermen, Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti, Chief of the Presidential Staff Moeldoko, and Coordinator of Presidential Special Staff Teten Masduki.

Until now, loans totaling Rp132 billion provided by Bank Mikro Nelayan (Fishermen) has been utilized by fishermen and fishery businessmen.

Bank Mikro Nelayan has set a target of channeling a total of Rp975 billion to fishermen and fishery businessmen seeking low-interest loans.
