Bandung, W Java, (ANTARA News) - An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter Scale jolted Bandung District, West Java Province, on Monday at 1:08 p.m. local time.

The quake`s epicenter was located at 7.27 degrees southern latitude, 107.71 degrees eastern longitude, 17 kilometers (km) southeast of Bandung District, and at a depth of 10 km, Tony Agus Wijaya, head of the Bandung Geophysics Office, stated here, Monday.

"The quake of II MMI (Modified Mercalli Intensity) was felt by the residents of Bojongsoang and Banjaran, Bandung District," he added.

The earthquake did not trigger a subsequent tsunami, he added.
