"The Assembly will decide on the position in the form of a ruling that the assembly will ask for one week."Bandung (ANTARA) - The Public Prosecutor rejected all objections or exceptions filed by the attorney of defendant Habib Bahar bin Smith in the case of mistreatment of two teenagers in Bogor District, because the indictment, made as an objection point, was in accordance with the facts.
"Refusing the exception or objection note from the defendant's legal counsel," the Public Prosecutor, Suharja, stated at the proceedings with Bahar, in the courtroom of the Bandung Library and Archives Office on Thursday.
Suharja noted that there was no mistake in the indictment against Bahar. "Declaring the indictment of the public prosecutor on behalf of Bahar has been clearly and carefully drawn up," the prosecutor remarked.
Therefore, the prosecutor also asked the panel of judges to continue the trial process to the defendant's examination stage.
"He asked the panel of judges to continue to receive the indictment read out on Thursday (Feb 27) to be used as the basis for the investigation in the name of Bahar," he added.
Furthermore, the prosecutor concluded that Bahar's exception request, through his attorney, was deemed baseless, and so the prosecutor asked the judge to reject the exception.
"The Assembly will decide on the position in the form of a ruling that the assembly will ask for one week," Chief Judge Edison Muhammad revealed.
Besides Bahar, there were two other defendants, namely Agil Yahya and Abdul Basit Iskandar, who were allegedly involved in the case.
Muhammad noted that the trial would resume on Thursday next week, with the agenda of reading the interim verdict.
