AntaraSemarang, Central Java (ANTARA) - Former Chief of the Constitutional Court (MK) Mahfud MD assessed the arrest of PPP Chairman Romahurmuziy (Rommy) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had nothing to do with the two presidential candidates, Joko Widodo and Prabowo Subianto.
"This is purely legal and has nothing to do with political action," Mahfud said on the sidelines of his activities at Semarang University on Saturday.
According to him, the KPK has carried out its duties appropriately, so do not speculate on connecting with politics.
"There is no way this is Pak Prabowo's game. There is no way for this to be Pak Jokowi's game. Don't be associated with the presidential election," he said, stressing.
According to him, there is a presidential election or not, the law must be enforced.
In connection with the arrest, he claimed to have had time to warn the PPP politician.
He considered the actions of Rommy had been trapped by the KPK.
According to him, he had warned Rommy about the case that was being sniffed by the KPK.
He revealed that the warning that had been conveyed since 2018 was then ignored by the PPP Chairperson.
