Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice Presidential candidate number 02 Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said that unemployed people in Indonesia need opportunity to get jobs by participating in training which is in line with the needs of the workforce.

"What our children need is an opportunity," Uno said during the third round of presidential debate at Hotel Sultan in Jakarta on Sunday evening.

Coherence between education and workforce will lower the unemployment rate, he said.

Therefore, as a vice presidential candidate together with his partner Prabowo Subianto, Uno vows incentives for companies that provide internship opportunities for students, especially vocational high school students.

Prabowo-Sandi also proposes so called "Rumah Siap Kerja" (Ready-to-Work House) program, which is a place to develop skills of the workers before they are ready to enter the workforce.

The program is a one stop service training center that will bridge the circle of people who are ready to compete in the workforce.

"This (program) will reduce unemployment to two million in the five years we govern," Uno said.

The compatibility between capabilities and opportunities will create a great opportunity for the unemployment, he added.

Uno also emphasized that young people today must equip themselves with good knowledge and skills so they can compete in the workforce.

"How can Indonesia be number seven (of largest country) in the world from 2030 to 2045 if young people today do not have decent works," he noted.

The third round of presidential debate highlighted a theme of health, education, employment, social and culture. ***3***
