State-owned fertilizer producer PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) will intensify supervisory operational oversight of its operations to curb corrupt practices and uphold good corporate governance practices.
"In future, we will step up supervision of the company's operations, both in the company and its subsidiaries," Pupuk Indonesia Corporate Communications Head Wijaya Laksana remarked in Jakarta on Friday.

"Moreover, we have conducted an assessment of its corporate governance practices, which thank the God, have always received a good value. Hence, we continue to aim for clean and transparent corporate governance," Laksana explained.
Laksana also added that the company will continue to work towards implementing the principles of good and transparent corporate governance in conducting its operations.

"Hence, that is our priority. Regardless of what transpires in the company, our priority remains to ensure the availability of fertilizers for ensuring food security, including for Indonesia's farmers," he stated.
Pupuk Indonesia was bestowed the Gratification Control Award as the state enterprise with the Best Gratification Control Unit in 2015 by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for its commitment to collecting gratification reports.
