Palangka Raya (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will visit Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, on Monday (Apr 8), in line with his plan to conduct various activities.

"This is the information that we have received until now," Central Kalimantan Regional Secretary Fahrizal Fitri remarked in Palangka Raya on Friday.

However, Fitri could not as yet confirm whether Jokowi was paying a visit in his role as the Indonesian president or as a presidential election candidate to conduct his campaign agenda.

To this end, his party has maintained constant coordination with relevant parties -- the Military Resort Command or Military Command, the airport, and others -- to follow up on information on the scheduled arrival.

"What is clear is that we are ready first, so if the president really pays a visit, no obstacles will be encountered," he noted.

Fitri revealed that information had yet to be received on the planned inauguration of the new terminal of Tjilik Riwut Airport, adding that his side was seeking further updates from the central government and other related apparatuses.

In the meantime, current information indicates that Jokowi will visit Palangka Raya for covering several locations.

The president's agenda comprises a visit to the main market area of Jalan Batam, which is a souvenir hub of Palangka Raya and its adjoining places, followed by work-related meetings and a visit to a culinary center in the Jalan Yos Sudarso area of Palangka Raya.

"We simply await further information. The president is expected to pay a visit. Undoubtedly, a visit to the regions by heads of state is a matter of pride for us all," he emphasized.
