"As the largest Muslim population, we have the power of Islamic economics. We know that Indonesia has been named number 1 on halal tourist destination. We will also open a halal park near the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium," Jokowi said.
Jokowi's running mate Ma'ruf Amin remarked that the halal standard in Indonesia has become the basic reference to the world’s halal standard in which more than 50 countries asked for halal credit from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
"The halal standard in Indonesia has become the basic reference to the world’s halal standard that used in various other countries," Ma'ruf Amin said.
The Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin pair also encouraged the halal industry to be consolidated not only for domestic products but also from abroad.
He also stated that the National Islamic Finance Committee so-called KNKS had been formed. The committee was chaired by incumbent President Joko Widodo.
"The committee was established to develop the economy and to make Indonesia an Islamic finance center," he said.
Therefore, Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin pair will also strengthen the position of the financial institution and its services as an attempt to produce a variety of products that are market-friendly and to improve human resources' capacity.
