Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla departed for Beijing from Jakarta on Wednesday morning to take part in the second Belt and Road Forum (BRF) scheduled on Apr 25-27.

Kalla and his entourage, comprising spouse Mufidah and Research, Technology, and Higher Education Minister Mohamad Nasir, boarded special presidential flight BBJ from the Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase, East Jakarta, at 10 a.m. local time.

The estimated arrival time of the entourage in Beijing is 5:30 p.m. local time, and Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun and Chinese high-ranking officials will be present to welcome them.

In China, Kalla is also scheduled to engage in bilateral discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping, enjoy a luncheon with Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan, participate in several business forums, and have dinner with Chinese businessmen and government representatives.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, concurrently government adviser, had earlier noted in a press statement issued in Beijing, Friday (Apr 19), that the second BRF was themed "Belt and Road Cooperation, Shaping a Brighter Shared Future."

Yi affirmed that the second BRF targets enhancing the quality of cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road initiative.

No less than12 sub-forum activities centering on encouraging practical cooperation will be organized during the forum.
