Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government is making efforts to improve the quality of human resources in its working plan for 2020, the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) said.

"The Government's Working Plan in 2020, as the first year of the National Medium Term Development Planning (RPJMN) 2020-2024, has the theme, 'human resource development for qualified growth'," Minister of National Development Planning and Head of Bappenas Bambang Brodjonegoro said here on Thursday.

Bambang said the government has set five priorities in its 2020 working plan, namely human development and poverty eradication; infrastructure and equality of regional development; value addition in real estate, industrialization, and job opportunities; sufficiency of food, water, energy and environment; and stability of defence and security.

"To reach the development target, we need to utilize infrastructure as an economic growth booster. The key, as instructed by President Joko Widodo on many occasions, is human resources, who are qualified and competitive, well-educated, skilled, have character, are healthy and productive," he said.

Bambang remarked that innovation and technology have become part of all priority programs.

During the meeting on national development planning, Bappenas has exposed the National Medium Term Development Planning for the 2020-2024 period and the Government's Working Plan for 2020.

It also launched the Vision of Indonesia 2045 that has targeted to become a developed country in 2045 with high income and the fifth largest gross domestic product (GDP) in the world. EDITED BY INE
