Lawendatu remarked in Tahuna, Sangihe Islands District of North Sulawesi on Friday that the 12 civil servants were dishonorably discharged from active duty after a court ruling handed them a prison term.
"Based on a court ruling having permanent legal binding, 12 civil servants were proven guilty of corruption and sentenced to prison term," he revealed.
Officials and corrupt civil servants were dishonorably removed from service in line with the Joint Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of State Civil Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB), and Head of the National Civil Service Agency.
"The decision of the two ministry's agencies and the BKN (the National Civil Service Agency) was final and followed up by the district government," he remarked.
Lawendatu has appealed to all civil servants to not violate the law by engaging in acts, such as graft.
Speaking in connection with the legal proceedings against the civil servants involved in practical politics in the 2019 Election, Lawendatu clarified that as of now, only one case was delegated by the Election Monitoring Agency (Bawaslu) to the Personnel Education and Training Agency (BKDD).
"We have received one case delegated by the Bawaslu and were prompt to follow up on it in accordance with the pertinent rules," he added.
