In Palembang, on Friday, North Sumatra Regional Police Director's Dirlantas Dwi Asmoro projected the number of vehicles entering and departing from Palembang through the toll road to reach 2,500 daily.
Hence, some 2,500 vehicles are estimated to be heading out to Palembang through Lampung per day and vice versa, from Terbanggi Besar to the capital city of South Sumatra Province, at the same projected figure.
Hence, the total number of vehicles passing through the Palembang-Kayuagung-Terbanggi Besar Lampung toll road is estimated to reach five thousand a day.
Asmoro noted that the number of vehicles through the newly opened freeway increased in order to reach the destination faster.
This is since the Palembang-Lampung toll road has been used after some points were repaired.
The toll road will be crowded with vehicles, as people are looking to reach their destination quickly.
Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru and the Regional Police Chief and Kasdam II/Sriwijaya had earlier visited the Kayuagung-Palembang-Betung (Kapalbetung) toll road.
Toll roads are indeed ready for use since facilities, such as resorts, have been equipped with facilities, including refueling places.
The governor noted that there were several reasons behind toll roads being the key attraction for travelers, who can reduce their distance travelled.
To this end, the toll road will be attractive to travelers, as it will be free of obstacles, and the lane will not be congested, he added.
