Jakarta (ANTARA) - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko confirmed that President Joko Widodo will receive retired officers on Friday afternoon for a meeting to deliberate over the latest political and security conditions.

"Perhaps, yesterday, several retired officers harbored differences in their views of the current government. Hence, we are upbeat that communication with these seniors would serve as a bridge," Moeldoko noted here on Friday.

Moeldoko remarked that several retired officers scheduled to attend the meeting comprised Wijoyo Suyono, Wismoyo Arismunandar, Sintong Panjaitan, Rais Abin, Chairperson, Army Retired Association Kiki Sanakri, General Chair of the Navy Retired Association Ade Supandi, and General Chair of the Air Force Retired Union Djoko Suyanto.

He elaborated that retired retainers are expected to create a more conducive environment by being a communication channel between retired officers and the government.

The meeting was scheduled to be held at 14:00 local time at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
