"Mme Ani was an inspiring, sturdy and excellent woman who won various awards," Zainal, cadre of the Tanjungpinang city executive board of the Democrat Party, said on Sunday.
The awards included a medal of merit Tanda Kehormatan Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipradana of 2011, and a golden pin from M. Ani Yudhoyono was also awarded the Certificate of Global Leadership from the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) for her leadership in the ten million tree-planting and attending movement program across Indonesia, he said.
The other award was a golden pin from the State Ministry of Women's Empowerment, in recognition of her role in promoting the quality of women's and children's lives during the peak commemoration of World Breast Milk Week 2007.
Zainal said Ani Yudhoyono was also close to Democrat Party cadres.
