The Association of Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants in the Special Region of Yogyakarta estimates that occupancy rates of star hotels in this area will reach 90 percent during Eid 2019.
"With the peak Eid holiday season, occupancy can reach 90 percent," said Istijab, Chairman of the Danunagoro Association of Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants in Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta, on Monday.
"During Ramadan it is quiet, stagnant, except for iftar events in three, four and five-star hotels," Istijab said.
As in previous years, according to Istijab, meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibition (MICE) activities by several ministries are the largest hotel revenue sources in DIY.
General Manager of Grand Inna Hotel Malioboro Ni Komang Darmiati targets the occupancy rate of hotel rooms in the Malioboro area to even reach 100 percent during Eid. "Our H-1 has started to get crowded, and can reach 100 percent on E + 2 Eid," he said.
Since the beginning of Ramadan, occupancy at Grand Inna Hotel Malioboro has seen an average of 56 percent. The occupancy rate increased when compared to the same period last year.
