Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has called on the Central Java administration to boost export-oriented industry and tourism.

"Central Java has a huge opportunity. Hence, the central government is keen to offer back up by providing necessary assistance," Jokowi remarked at a limited cabinet meeting to discuss efforts to expedite development programs in Central Java held at the Bogor Palace here on Tuesday.

At the meeting attended by Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla, the head of state called for development acceleration in Central Java to be real, both in the export-oriented industry and tourism sectors.

"In this case, we are aware of the need to boost economic growth, and Central Java has a huge opportunity," he remarked.

Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister/State Secretary Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Agrarian and Spatial Planning Minister Sofyan Djalil, and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo attended the meeting.

"We will later urge all ministers to extend their support whenever the need arises. We are optimistic of better economic growth in Central Java, so it can boost our national economic growth," he stated.

The Central Java governor gave a presentation on a plan to accelerate development in the province.
