More than 2,100 hectares of paddy has been spoiled in the rice fields
Indramayu, West Java (ANTARA) - More than 2,100 hectares of rice crop has been damaged in drought-parched Indramayu District in West Java Province.

"More than 2,100 hectares of paddy has been spoiled in the rice fields," Takmid, head of the agricultural office in Indramayu, said Wednesday. The extreme dry spell has left the sub-districts of Kroya, Kandanghaur, Gabus, Gantar and Losarang parched.

In addition, some 12 thousand hectares of rice fields in Indramayu are also prone to damage due to the current drought.

"We have recorded that as on July 17, 2019, 12 thousand hectares of rice fields are parched," he said.

Also, the fact that most irrigation systems in Indramyau have been damaged has worsened the impact of drought, he remarked.
