"Currently, the Densus (Special Detachment 88) is intensively communicating with the anti-terror squads in the Philippines, Afghanistan and Malaysia and is working on coordination with the Interpol through its international relations division," a spokesman of the Indonesian Police, Brig. Gen Dedi Prasetyo, said here on Monday.
Prasetyo noted that the police are working closely with the Interpol to arrest members of the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) and the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) linked to the ISIS.
Previously, the Indonesian Police headquarters stated that a terrorist suspect, Andi Baso, is allegedly hiding in South Philippines.
Baso is a fugitive wanted for the bombing of the Oikumene Church in Samarinda in 2016 and allegedly commissioned a pair of suicide bombers who blew themselves up in a church in Jolo, South Philippines.
In addition, the police have also found a terrorist suspect, Saefulah, in Khurasan, an area in the northeastern Iran, southern Turkmenistan and northern Afghanistan.
Saefulah is the controller of JAD and received funds from 12 donors from various countries through the Western Union services.
"An Indonesian wanted person (DPO) is still in Khurasan," Prasetyo said.
Information on the whereabouts of Saefulah was obtained following the arrest of a terrorist suspect, Novendri, recently, who played a role in distributing the funds of JAD Indonesia. EDITED BY INE
