Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - Eight potential investors are apparently keen to develop the Gili Tangkong tourist resort in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, to which end three have sent documents of offer, a local official stated.

"Potential investors, interested in the project, have participated in the selection process since the start," Prayitno Basuki, charman of the West Nusa Tenggara cooperation partners in regional development, remarked here on Wednesday.

The investors comprise PT Heritage Resort and Spas from Bintan, Riau Island Province; PT Istana Cempaka Raya from Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara; and PT Ananda Tangkong Paradise from Denpasar, Bali.

West Nusa Tenggara Governor Zulkieflimansyah lauded the interest of those potential investors in participating in the development of his province.

He called on the need for transparency, openness, and lesser bureaucratic protocols during the selection process to make it easier for potential investors.

Lombok attracts travelers seeking to experience a traditional, rural way of living. Lofty mountains, waterfalls, coral reefs, a vibrant Sasak culture, ethnic markets, and tranquility are on offer for all those traveling.

Gili Tangkong, akin to other islands in Lombok, has pristine, white sandy beaches and coconut groves fringing the pearl-encrusted shores, and the encompassing ocean spawning a magnificent ecosystem abound with the greatest marine biodiversity globally.
