Thank you for accepting us well, but we want to meet the DPR leaders. The Jakarta Police chief and his members, we ask you to retreat because you are not our enemies
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Police Chief of Jakarta Inspector General Gatot Pramono observed the demonstration site of various students from hundreds of campuses in front of the MPR/DPR Building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday. Pramono came at 13.30 WIB to directly monitor security around the demonstration site.

Not long after he arrived, reporters who were covering the demonstration were asked to move to a spot behind the police barricade.

After that, the students suddenly began throwing drinking bottles toward the gate of the MPR/DPR Building.

"Friends, we know violence does not solve problems," a student who was in the command car said.

The student also expressed the hope of the students to meet with the leaders of the House of Representatives and asked Pramono to withdraw its members who were tasked to secure the demonstration.

"Thank you for accepting us well, but we want to meet the DPR leaders. The Jakarta Police chief and his members, we ask you to retreat because you are not our enemies," the student who became the coordinator using a dark green alma mater remarked.

After delivering their demands, the students sang the song Tanah Airku and Indonesia Raya. (INE)
