The workers who claimed to be members of All-Indonesia Labor Union (SPSI) voiced a three-point demand including rejecting the revision of Law No. 13 of 2003 on Manpower, a rise in fees on health care and social security (BPJS Kesehatan, and asking President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to fulfil his pledge to revise Government Regulation No. 78 of 2015.
"This rally is a peaceful one because workers have put their trust in and pin their hopes on President Jokowi during his second term of office," one of the rally's orators aboard the command car said.
By Wednesday afternoon, the demonstrating workers were still there in front of the DPRD building while voicing their demands.
