Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) - The Indonesian delegation that attended the Border Liaison Officers Meeting (BLOM) between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea held in the Papua provincial capital of Jayapura proposed a 10-point agenda. The proposed 10-point agenda, including administrative affairs, border cross surveillance, citizenship and border economic cooperation will be discussed at the meeting which will end on Thursday, Chief of the Border and Foreign Cooperation of the Papua Provincial Government, Suzana Wanggai, said in Jayapura on Wednesday.

"Hopefully, the PNG delegation will respond to the agenda during the meeting, including a plan to realize the purchase of rice from Merauke," she said.

BLOM is an inter-border official meeting, which is one level below the border liaison meeting (BLM). The agenda, which remains unsolved at BLOM, will be discussed at BLM.

But if the discussion at BLM does not yield fruit, it will be incorporated into the agenda of the joint border meeting held every year in rotation, Wanggai said.

The Indonesian delegation comprises officials of districts and the city bordering PNG, including Jayapura, Keerom, Merauke, and Boven Digul, as well as representatives of related agencies, including the Indonesian military.

Meanwhile, information, social and cultural official of the Indonesian consulate in Vanimo, Henry Samosir, said the PNG delegation to the BLOM raised seven problems plaguing its residents living on the border between the two countries, including the census of the PNG citizens living on the border between the two countries and the circulation of motorcycles from Indonesia in PNG.
