I give all to Mr. Prabowo. I let Mr. Prabowo decide about me
Babakanmadang, Bogor (ANTARA) - Sandiaga Uno, former running mate of Prabowo Subianto in this year's presidential elections, joined the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party's national meeting Wednesday. Accompanied by his wife, his presence at the meeting confirmed his return to the party. The meeting was expected to reveal Gerindra's final political stance on whether to join the Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin administration or stay out.

Uno is a Gerindra cadre but he had left the party when he was appointed Prabowo Subianto's running mate to challenge Widodo and Amin in this year's presidential race.

After leaving Gerindra, he joined the National Mandate Party (PAN), one of the coalition parties of the Prabowo-Uno camp.

Uno told journalists before joining the meeting that he had not requested any specific position in the party.

"I give all to Mr. Prabowo. I let Mr. Prabowo decide about me," said Uno, who was a member of the Gerindra Advisory Council before leaving.

He felt that Gerindra was his shared home in the struggle for a fairer Indonesia by boosting the country's economy to enable the people to enjoy prosperity, Uno said.

As a cadre who accepted Prabowo's invitation, Uno said the meeting was expected to make several strategic decisions for the sake of a well-developed and prosperous Indonesia.

Some two thousand elites of the Gerindra Party from throughout Indonesia and observers attended the party's national meeting in Hambalang, Bogor District, West Java Province Wednesday.

"Some two thousand people attended Gerindra's national meeting during which four items on the agenda, including presenting hints of Gerindra's political stance, will be highlighted to the participants," Gerindra Party Deputy Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad stated.

The participants will also hear perspectives of the party's regional representatives and discuss matters about technical guidelines of the party's short and long-term activities, Ahmad noted while speaking on the sidelines of the event.

The meeting will wrap up after announcing the party's final stance on the Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin administration due to be officially sworn-in on October 20. (INE)
