Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Ida Fauziah has drawn attention to creating and expanding employment opportunities in Indonesia since it is aligned with one of the priorities of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"Expanding employment opportunities becomes one of President Joko Widodo's priorities in Indonesia Moving Forward," Manpower Minister Ida Fauziah remarked at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Minister Fauziah emphasized that the government should encourage investment in a bid to create job opportunities.

Following the inauguration, Fauziah will attend the handover ceremony with the earlier Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri.

"I think Mr Hanif will give a resume of what has been done in 2019," Fauziah stated.

Fauziah revealed that she will learn and work shortly following the handover ceremony.

"President Joko Widodo urged his ministers to work seriously," she remarked.

President Jokowi, in his inaugural address, had earlier outlined five priorities for his second five-year term in 2019-2024.

During his presidential inauguration at the Parliament Building here on Sunday, Jokowi highlighted the need for a conducive political and economic ecosystem to implement the five priorities, one of which was bureaucratic simplification.

To attract investment for creation of job opportunities, President Jokowi will also prioritize debureaucratization or simplification of bureaucracy. Related news: Manpower policy should be aligned with Industry 4.0: ministry
