President Jokowi and his entourage are scheduled to depart aboard the presidential aircraft from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in East Jakarta for the Dominie Edward Osok Airport in Sorong, West Papua, on Saturday, he informed journalists here on Friday.
"Mr. President is scheduled to arrive in Sorong at around 9 p.m. local time. On Sunday morning, he continues his trip to Manokwari, the capital city of West Papua Province, and Pegunungan Arfak District aboard a helicopter," he noted.
After an around 45-minute stay at Pegunungan Arfak District, President Jokowi will return to Manokwari and prepare to depart for Kaimana District, he stated.
"On Sunday afternoon, President Jokowi is expected to have paid a visit to Kaimana to enjoy the beauty of the sunset there," Lakotani remarked.
On Monday (Oct 28), President Jokowi continues his working visit to Wamena, the capital city of Jayawijaya District, in Papua Province.
"We are thankful since from the onset, President Jokowi begins his second leadership term by visiting several areas in Papua and West Papua. Of course, we have several agenda items that we can propose to Mr. President," he remarked.

Speaking in connection with President Jokowi's scheduled work visit, Papua Police Chief Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw made assurance on Friday that the community order and security situation throughout Papua remained under control.
"In general, as of this Friday, the situation remains peaceful and under control. This is thanks to the support and cooperation of all friends on the ground, top brass, regional government officials, and community leaders. All contribute to this peaceful and secure condition in Papua," he stated.
Waterpauw arrived in Timika, the capital city of Mimika District, Papua Province, along with Commander of the XVII Cenderawasih Regional Military Command Major General Herman Asaribab to welcome Home Minister Tito Karnavian and his entourage that arrived on Friday afternoon.
Waterpauw admitted that he and his colleague, Major General Herman Asaribab, will report about the security situation in Papua before the president's visit to Karnavian, who will arrive in Timika along with Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander Air Chief Marshall Hadi Tjahjanto and acting Police Chief Commissioner General Ari Dono Sukmato.
On Saturday morning, Karnavian and his entourage are scheduled to fly to Wamena, the capital city of Jayawijaya District, before joining President Jokowi's entourage in Jayapura, the capital city of Papua Province, he noted.
Papua and West Papua have come under the radar of both the Indonesian and foreign media after a spate of violence broke out in several parts of these two Indonesian provinces in August and September 2019.
