A good waste management is considered to be a logical consequence of it.Mataram (ANTARA) - Everbright International (EI), the largest Chinese company specializing in waste management and biomass power plant, expressed readiness to support the provincial government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) in handling the region’s waste management.
NTB Governor Zulkieflimansyah made the announcement in a press statement received in Mataram on Saturday during his current visit to EI in China.
“Tourism is one of our main sectors in NTB. Good waste management is considered to be a logical consequence of it. There must be a large volume of waste and notions that tourist destinations have to be waste-free areas,” Zulkieflimansyah stated to the EI’s boards.
In this connection, Zulkieflimansyah expounded that his administration had conducted a program of zero-waste province that necessitated the management to work in an effective and efficient manner.
“We are pursuing a partnership for investment and technological-knowledge transfer as well as waste management of EI in NTB,” he confirmed.
The government has vowed to offer all facilities, such as land areas, and to ease the process of license issuance necessary for investment in case EI technologies are suited in NTB.
EI, based in Hangzhou, China, and established in 2014, has been operational since the past two years, with waste management facilities of over 170 spots spread in 22 provinces throughout the country and 370 projects of waste management and power plant.
EI General Manager Chen Honxiong affirmed that his company was wide open to this partnership offer from the NTB government, particularly since Indonesia is one country that was already assigned in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) scheme.
