More than 40 Indonesian companies showcased their best products ranging from paper, garment, jewellery, charcoal, medical equipment, food, lT, manpower service, furniture to tires in a product exhibition that provided a platform to the business community of the two brotherly countries for further cooperation and seeks new potential business partnerships and collaboration, the statement said.

The business delegation from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and lndustry and its chapter from Aceh Province also participated in the solo exhibition. Based on data from the Qatar Chamber, trade volume between Qatar and Indonesia increased by 154 percent to US$877 million in 2018 from $346 million in 2017, in which Qatari exports to Indonesia increased by $728 million last year and Indonesian export to Qatar increased to $148 million in the same year.
“It is quite an encouraging number but I am convinced that there is ample room for improvement to increase our trade volume and also investment for the countries’ mutual benefit as well as economic relations in general. In that sense, Indonesia Expo 2019 is a part of the effort to achieve that goal,” the ambassador remarked.
The three-day exhibition is a part of the effort to further consolidate mutual cooperation in the business sector and contribute to increasing the volume of trade exchange and investment.
Qatar and Indonesia have enjoyed sound bilateral relations that have strengthened and developed from time to time in all fields for the benefit of both countries. The exchange of visits of high-ranked officials from the two countries was also intensified in recent years.
