We are still targeting to fully complete the construction project of YIA in December.
Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - Angkasa Pura I, Indonesia’s state-owned enterprise in charge of airport management, is targeting to complete the work to construct Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) by this December.

"We are yet targeting to fully complete the construction project of YIA in December," Acting General Manager of YIA, Agus Pandu Purnama, noted here on Wednesday.

Currently, the total work on the project is 88 percent complete since the building is already set up, while the artworks are yet to be incorporated.

The work on the hotel around the airport area is currently underway and projected for completion in February next year. It is being designed to have 55 rooms to accommodate flight crews.

The YIA is expected to become fully operational in April 2020 when several flights are planned to be relocated from the existing Adisutjipto International Airport in Yogyakarta.
