This is indeed a competition where I might win or lose, I could be elected or not.
Solo (ANTARA) - Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the older son of President, Joko Widodo, who is campaigning as part of the local election for 2020 for the position of the mayor of Solo, Central Java, claimed that he is not worried about people's assumptions about him being a part of the political dynasty.

"This is indeed a competition where I might win or lose, I could be elected or not," he said in Solo, Tuesday.

The thing that matters, according to Gibran, is that his candidacy was not an appointment by any party and that he took the decision on his own. He said the people of Solo would decide who deserved the position.

"It is up to the people if they want to vote for me or not," he added.

Regarding his status as Indonesia's current president's son, Gibran told the press that he has been treated the same as the other candidates, and did not receive any special treatment. "I have fulfilled all the parties' requirements," he said.

Gibran's campaign team has not settled on any official campaign building, but some posts provided by his supporters have been scattered across several spots in Solo.

"I go around the posts allocated by my supporters every day, while the official office is being set up. I will be back with information about this in January or February," he said. (INE).
