Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government has tightened passage through the entrance gate for people from Singapore where a case of human-to-human coronavirus transmission was detected recently.

"The Indonesian government is inventorizing and tightening the arrival of people through entrance gates from various countries, including Singapore," Director General of Disease Prevention and Control of the Health Ministry Anung Sugihantono stated through a long-distance video call on Wednesday.

The measure is adopted as part of the efforts to prevent the entry of coronavirus into the Indonesian territory, he remarked.

Moreover, the Singapore Health Ministry had confirmed recently that an Indonesian employed in the country has tested positive for coronavirus.

The Indonesian national is the 21st individual to have tested positive for the deadly virus in Singapore.

Chief of the Communication and Public Service Bureau of the Health Ministry Widyawati stated that the Indonesian migrant worker had not travelled to China.

"It is believed that the employer has transmitted the virus to the Indonesian, who is currently being treated at the Singapore General Hospital," she stated.

Meanwhile, Director of Communicable Disease Prevention and Control of the Health Ministry Wiendra Waworuntu remarked that if a case of human-to-human coronavirus transmission is found in a country, then it must place restrictions on access in accordance with the rule.

The same is being followed by the Hubei provincial government in China that restricts access from and to Wuhan, where the new strain of coronavirus first surfaced.

Indonesia does not issue a travel warning for Singapore but only advises its citizens keen on traveling to the country, she added.
