Jakarta (ANTARA) - The number of potential disabled voters for the 2020 simultaneous regional head elections (pilkada) is estimated to reach 137,247 of the total 105 million eligible voters included on the potential electoral voter population (DP4) list.

The General Election Commission (KPU) has synchronized the DP4 data with the 2019 final voter list (DPT) through coordination with other relevant institutions, KPU Commissioner Viryan Azis stated here on Thursday.

Hence, Azis pointed out that the figure can change based on the results of synchronization.

To facilitate and accommodate voters with disabilities, the Commission has set up a polling station (TPS) to enable them to access the stations.

Every TPS must be accessible for wheelchair users, with the size of the entrance and exit determined to provide services for disabled voters.

A total of 270 regions in Indonesia, comprising nine provinces, 224 districts, and 37 cities, will hold simultaneous regional head elections on September 23, 2020. Related news: Bawaslu identifies 24 regions susceptible to election conflicts
