Jakarta (ANTARA) - Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI), a state-owned enterprise (SOE) company on agricultural, pharmacy and trade, will probably stop exporting masks towards their corporate social responsibility program as it is running short of raw materials for masks.

"We regularly provide masks for corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs abroad. The last time we did it for BNI (a state owned bank) that shared the product with Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong. Thereafter, we stopped. Masks are only for Kimia Farma (SOE company in pharmaceuticals)," Eko Taufik Wibowo, the director of RNI, stated.

However, they had not begun production since the Chinese raw material for masks was running out of stock, RNI admitted. The company is scheduled to produce five to seven million masks by this month for Muslim pilgrims.

But the company is saving the old stock of some 50.000 pieces of masks.

Since the supply of material being imported from China had dropped in January, Indonesia immediately sought alternative suppliers in European companies, but they had not yet responded.

"We have not received a positive response from European companies. They keep saying later and later. It also risks an increase in price," Wibowo noted.
