Jakarta (ANTARA) - Persahabatan Central General Hospital (RSUP) in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, has discharged 14 patients who earlier displayed symptoms of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection, as of Tuesday, after they received intensive treatment and were declared healthy.

"Of 27 patients we have treated, we only have 13 patients left today. The other patients have been discharged in good health. They tested negative (for COVID-19)," RSUP Persahabatan President Director Rita Rogayah said.

Of the 13 patients who are still being treated at the hospital, eight remain under surveillance and five have been positively diagnosed as having contracted the coronavirus infection, she said.

Five patients have been diagnosed as being infected with the coronavirus infection.

"Yesterday, five of them were diagnosed negatively for COVID-19. Today nine patients who tested negative for the virus have been discharged," she said.

The hospital is awaiting the results of laboratory tests conducted on the patients put under surveillance and diagnosed as having the coronavirus infection.
