We prepare a special funding of Rp50 trillion under the KUR scheme for agriculture. We can utilize this. Prepare a business proposal
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) spoke of the government’s allotment of Rp50 trillion of special funding under the micro loan (KUR) scheme for farmers to develop technology-based farming.

"We prepare a special funding of Rp50 trillion under the KUR scheme for agriculture. We can utilize this. Prepare a business proposal," Jokowi stated at the opening of the 2nd Asian Agriculture & Food Forum at the State Palace here on Thursday.

The special funding is expected to encourage farmers to apply modern farming practices with better management, he pointed out.

"We can make a living from agriculture, and agriculture can become a backbone for the country's economy," Jokowi remarked, adding that the funding would offer confidence to the bank.

The president has called on farmers to utilize the funding efficiently to develop technology-based farming, such as application for seedling.

Jokowi stated that farmers, grouped in the Indonesian Farmers Association (HKTI), can create clusters to enhance its management.

"These clusters can cover tropical fruits, herbs, and spices," Jokowi added.
