Batam, Riau Islands (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Embassy announced the country's eighth confirmed positive case of coronavirus or COVID-19 in Singapore on Sunday.

The Indonesian patient with a confirmed positive coronavirus infection was identified as the 212nd case in Singapore, Chief of the Information, Social and Cultural Affairs of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore Ratna Lestari Harjana said in a press statement released on Sunday.

The Indonesian citizen positively diagnosed for coronavirus is a 64-year old man.

"He tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday morning (March 14, 2020) and is being treated at National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID) of Singapore," she said.

One of the eight Indonesians who tested positive for coronavirus was declared healthy and allowed to return home.
