"All parties are required to comply with this protocol to prevent the transmission of the viral disease COVID-19 and to ensure the effectiveness of 'social distancing' policies in an effort to break the spread of the coronavirus," she remarked while delivering the Public Transportation Protocol at Graha BNPB Jakarta, Wednesday.
Sriprahastuti noted that the Ministry of Transportation and local governments were tasked with monitoring the implementation of the Public Transportation Protocol and bringing about several improvements.
The senior advisor expounded that every individual should ensure that he/she does not transmit COVID-19 to others, adding that this responsibility was part of the implementation of the protocol.
"Everyone must be wise in responding to circulated news and to always verify the truth behind them and with full responsibility," she emphasized.
The government has issued a Public Transport Protocol to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in public vehicles.
In accordance with the protocol, managers of public vehicles are required to apply disinfectant measures on their fleets twice to thrice daily by taking into account busy times and being heedful of places with several passengers.
Moreover, managers of public transportation are required to conduct stringent scanning of passengers at stations, terminals, airports, and ports by checking their body temperature.
